Stroke is a major cause of death today. In Indonesia, the disease has become the third leading cause of death after heart disease and infections. If not treated immediately, can be fatal for the patient, such as death or disability. What we must realize that stroke is an emergency requiring immediate treatment, as well as other diseases.
Basically, the stroke is a condition in which brain cells damaged due to not getting enough oxygen and nutrients. Brain cells must still obtain the consumption of oxygen and nutrients that are necessary to perform its function properly. Inhibition of the oxygen flow to the brain cells for 3-4 minutes proved to be the cause of damage to brain cells. The longer the blockage occurred, the effect will be more severe and difficult to regenerate.

Stroke is a disorder of brain function caused by blood flow to the brain disorder (reduced). Consequently, nutrients and oxygen to the brain dbutuhkan not respected. The causes of stroke are of two types, namely, the existence of blockages in blood vessels (thrombosis), and the presence of a blood vessel ruptured.
Typically, a stroke suffered by the elderly, because the aging process causes hardening and narrowing of blood vessels (arteriosclerosis) and the presence of fats that clog arteries (atherosclerosis). But some of them showed an increase in cases of stroke occurred in adolescence and childbearing age (15-40 years). In this group, one of the main causes of stroke is a stress, drug abuse, alcohol, heredity, and an unhealthy lifestyle.
